To make this distinction easier for people who aren’t quite in the know, one popular example of each will be used. For the smartphones, the example will be the Apple iPhone and for the cell phones, we’ll use the Motorolla Razr.

Believe it or not there is quite a difference between the smartphone and the cell phone and it isn’t just limited to the look, the size or the weight. Much of what defines these two are the features and options, or lack thereof.

With iPhone, you have a touch-screen interface with hundreds of apps and access to clear wireless internet, 4G or any other mobile broadband service. This allows you to accomplish more on your phone without having to fire up the home computer – shopping, downloading music, watching television episodes, etc.

The Razr, while advancing and improving over the years, still doesn’t have the same capacity, potential or level of convenience and functionality that smartphones have. There’s less to do on a cell phone which makes them less comfortable to use.

What it all comes down to is convenience. People want convenience. The iPhone and most smartphones like it are simply more convenient than most cell phones on the market, and that’s the big different.

Three Things You Should Look For In A Cellphone

Shopping for a cellphone is a daunting task, whether you already own a cellphone or want to upgrade or replace your existing phone. Cellphones come in numerous styles, designs and with different features, making the selection process more difficult because there’s so many out there to choose from. With all the choices, ads and deals available for cellphones on the market today, it’s easy to overlook the three main things you must consider before buying any cellphone.

Service Area

Different service providers offer different cellphones for use on their networks. You might find the perfect phone for your price range and with your desired features, but if the carrier doesn’t provide adequate coverage for your area, the phone will be useless. Check with each provider before buying a phone to make sure the phone will work correctly in the places you need to use it. Many providers have coverage maps by zip code available online; the maps will show you exactly where phone coverage will be weak and strong.

The Plan

Promotional cellphone plans offer many discounts to new customers, but make sure you read all fine print and understand what you’re signing up for before you buy a plan phone. Check out all plans for the cellphones you are considering. Terminating a cellphone contract early will cost you money in fees.

Features and Functions

Once you’ve confirmed coverage and plan details, you’ll need to decide on a cellphone. Focus on phones with features that meet your specific needs. For example, if you don’t plan to take a lot of photos but will be text messaging, you should look at phones that have text messaging features, such as keypad shortcuts or a virtual or physical keyboard, without focusing on the camera quality. Avoid being distracted by features and functions you’ll never really need.

Prepaid plans are simply plans that keep you out of being locked into a cell phone contract. A lot of people pay a high monthy bill for minutes that they really don’t use. Paying for minutes as you need them allows you more control.
I had a contract cell phone that costed me over 80.00 a month. I only made around 1,100 each month, and my rent and other bills came out to over half of that. Being a low income worker I have to make every penny in my budget work for me and try to save at the same time.I found some more information here. Paying a cell phone bill that costed that much was just not smart.
I went out and got a prepaid phone that costs 1.99 to talk unlimited every day. The minimum amount you can buy is a 15.00 card. When I need to get online I go to the library for a few hours and send Facebook messages instead of texting. The internet shouldn’t control your life to the point that you are looking at your phone all day. I only talk on the phone every other day, and in a month’s time my bill is only 30.00.

If you’re the type of person that needs to get online on the go, having a basic phone may be a thing of the past for you. If all the fancy applications are not your thing, a basic phone will be just right for you. Choosing which one just depends on your lifestyle and who you are.
PDA (or Personal Digital Assistant) devices came out about a decade ago with apps on them that made it possible to use them as cellular phones. They’re now called smart phones, but some people are just as happy with their basic phone. Why? The biggest reason is cost.
When you compare the price of a basic phone to a smartphone, its not hard to tell why many people would rather just go to the library or use their laptop to get online. Even though the prices of smartphones go down as the newer devices come out, a lot of customers still dont feel the need to pay that much money every month.
It all boils down to one question: Do you need a smartphone, or do you just want a smartphone. If it’s in your budget and you can’t live without one, go for it.

In this day and age it seems that everyone needs to be on the internet at all times. Whether it be for business meetings or posting on Facebook or twitter the internet and top speeds are at the top of everyone’s wish list. So many options are available and speeds and reliability continue to improve. Internet service reliability is at an all time high. It is very unusual for internet services to be down for long periods of time as most providers not have backup system that keep there customers online.Didn-t catch that? This explains it. This reliability allows businesses to focus on getting the fastest service available to them for the right price.

Speeds also continue to improve. The internet speeds available for home internet also have gone up but it really does not change the home users needs. Internet is virtually if not faster than the naked eye. Gamers are the people who will find the new increases in internet speeds the most useful. The higher internet speeds allow their games to work more accurately and quickly to ensure that they are getting the best play out of the game itself. All of these advance continue to make internet technology, service and speeds a priority for providers.
